Highlights from Skill IT for Youth Training Course

21 youth workers from Ireland, Norway, Poland and Romania were trained on how to provide digital skills enhancing workshops that will support young people to develop essential skills and knowledge required on the labour market.

The Skill IT for Youth Training Course took place in Serock (Warsaw area), Poland, from the 31st of March to the 4th of April 2019, within the Skill IT for Youth project framework and supported by Erasmus+ Programme.

During the five-day training course, the youth workers learned and developed their digital skills and media and information literacy knowledge, in order to improve their work with young people. After a short introduction on training methodology, the participants explored methods and ways of delivering workshops to young people, using different technology, apps and software, for enhancing young people’s future skills:

  • Creativity & innovation
  • Communication
  • Teamwork & collaboration
  • Productivity & accountability
  • Media & information literacy
  • Critical thinking
  • Problem solving, using methods such as design thinking

In the last day of the training, the youth workers developed and tried out their own workshops for young people, based on the Skill IT for Youth Training Toolkit. They received valuable feedback and suggestions for improvement both from the other participants and the trainers.
